The First Battle of Blida took place from 22 to 24 July 1830,[1] during the French conquest of Algeria. A French corps consisting of 1,500 men and a squadron of chasseurs faced Algerian popular forces from the Beni Salah and Beni Misra Berber tribes, and from the town of Blida. The battle resulted in a victory for the Algerians.[2]
